For my first post on my blog I kick off with a visit last year to my very first vegetarian restaurant, let alone a Michelin starred one: Tian in beautiful Vienna. I was looking for a first culinary weekend get away and browsing the sites, Tians pics looked nice, the reviews were promising. The choice was made and boy, did they not disappoint… I went for a tasting menu and ordered an extra chocolate dessert at the end as I just adore chocolate…
There weren’t many people for lunch at that time, but still cozy, light environment and friendly service (always so much appreciated…). I am not going to discuss in great detail every dish as in the end I do not consider myself a food connoisseur (and it’s been over 1,5 years…). Four dishes are etched in my foodie memory (and appreciated):
- Spinach ravioli
- Filled sprouts
- Crepe Suzette in a completely different take including dehydrated fruit. Stunning!
- the chocolate dessert: a tough one to finish after the copious meal, but taste wise as it should be. Amost like having a ‘dark taste’, deep, intense, rich chocolate flavour with every bite…
I would say definitely worth the visit and although I like my fish and meat, I was very happily surprised and would not hesitate to return!
Guten Appetit!
